A man is wanted for shooting at a D.C. police officer in Southeast on the Fourth of July.

The man was walking a dog in the 4600 block of Hillside Road SE at about 3:50 a.m. when he passed the officer and said "F--- you," D.C. police said Monday.

About five minutes later, the man crouched behind a tree and shot at the on-duty officer several times, police said. Then, he ran into an alley.

    The officer was not hurt.
