Man Slashed in Head Outside of Spanish Embassy in DC: Police

A man was slashed in the head with a pocket knife outside of the Embassy of Spain in the West End on Saturday, D.C. police said.

The Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded to an altercation in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Ave. NW around 3 p.m. on Saturday.

There police said they found a man who had been slashed in the head with a pocket knife north of Washington Circle.

After being slashed, the victim said he threw a BB gun at the knife-wielding attacker after he approached him again "in an aggressive manner," according to a police report.

Both men have been charged: the attacker was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. The victim was charged with possession of a BB gun.
