A man who attacked an officer with a sword was fatally shot last night, Baltimore County police report.
According to police, officers were serving a search warrant and say that when the Reginald Melvin Cox Jr. swung a large sword at one of the officers, the officer opened fire to stop the attack. Cox was pronounced dead on the scene.
The officer who shot Cox is a 17-year veteran. He has been placed on administrative leave pending a review of the case.
