Oops! One man is facing a drug charge after police say he sent a text message offering marijuana to a police officer by mistake.

Fairfax County police say the message mix-up happened this week, but they could not provide a specific date.

"HMU if you wanna get together I've got some nice ins we can burn," the text message read.

Narcotics detectives continued the conversation and set up a meeting with the suspect. The man, who police did not identify, was arrested with more than a pound of marijuana in his possession.

A search of the man's home revealed another pounds of marijuana, a suspected Schedule I narcotics, a firearm and an undisclosed amount of money, police say.

The man has been charged with possession with intent to distribute.
