Man Injured, Two Cars Struck in Evening Shooting

Bullets Also Struck Vehicles of Two People as They Drove Past

A shooting yesterday evening injured one man and struck the vehicles of two people as they drove past.

The suspect, who remains at large, shot another man in the torso while both were on foot at about 6 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of New York Avenue and N. Capitol Street, according to police reports, News4's Derrick Ward has learned.

Police were alerted to the incident at approximately 8:50 p.m.

The victim was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle. He was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two witnesses to the shooting were not injured, but their vehicles were hit by gunfire. A Toyota truck was struck in the front bumper, and a Dodge Ram was struck in the right rear quarter panel.

The witnesses are both Maryland residents.

The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot through the rear parking lot of 1200 N. Capitol St.
