Man Gets 30 Years in Glen Burnie Robbery Death

Two others will be sentenced next week

A man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role in a slaying during a botched robbery at an Anne Arundel County pizzeria.

Charles "Ruga" Butler, 19, was sentenced Friday in the November 2010 shooting of Misael Flores at a Mr. Wings and Pizza in Glen Burnie.

The Capital of Annapolis reports that two other defendants, Shawn "Hawk'' Johnson and Vincent Bunner, will be sentenced next week for their roles in the shooting. A fourth man, Willie "Hitman" McLean is expected to enter a plea in the fall.

Investigators determined that Butler did not fire the two shots that killed the 20-year-old Flores.

Butler will be referred to the Patuxent Youth Program. He apologized in court, though Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Michael Wachs said he didn't believe Butler's expressions of remorse were genuine.

“I don’t get the impression from you that you really understand what you’ve done or what you were involved with, and that’s a shame,” Wachs said, according to The Capital
