Prince William County police are investigating the death of a man whose remains were found in a wooded area of the county last month.
Officers found the man's remains in the 8000 block of Barrett Drive in Manassas on Jan. 13.
The medical examiner's office determined the man was murdered, but the exact cause of death is still pending. The victim has not been positively identified.
No arrests have been made.
This is the county's first homicide of the year.
