Man Fleeing Maryland State Trooper Dies in Crash

Maryland State Police say a driver has been fatally injured in a crash while fleeing a state trooper in Pasadena.

Police say the driver of a pickup truck was speeding and swerving on Route 10 about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when he was spotted by the trooper, who was stopped on the shoulder. As the driver passed the trooper, authorities say he lost control of the truck and spun around.

Police say the trooper pulled up to the truck, but the man quickly drove away. The man drove onto Route 100, and was swerving back and forth. Authorities say he then drove his truck off the roadway, struck a guardrail, went up an embankment and hit a tree.

The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
