A man was fatally stabbed outside the Potomac Avenue Metro station in D.C. overnight.
Three teenagers — two male and one female — jumped the man, robbed him and stabbed him multiple times about 11:45 p.m. Sunday above the escalator area at the station in Southeast D.C., police said.
He died on the way to a hospital.
The victim is believed to be in his 40s. He has not been identified.
D.C. police have not made any arrests yet. They are reviewing surveillance video.
Metro Transit Police shut down the area around the station to collect evidence overnight. The station was open to commuters early Monday, but one escalator was cordoned off.
