Man Confesses to Fatal Shooting Inside His Arlington Home

ARLINGTON, Va. -- An Arlington man turned himself in to police Monday morning after allegedly shooting someone inside his home, police said.
 
William Donaldson, 35, called police just before 4 a.m. Monday and confessed to shooting 32-year-old Matthew Hicks, of Loudoun County, inside Donaldson's home in the 2100 block of South Arlington Ridge Road, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
 
The suspect surrendered to police at the scene, where police also recovered the weapon, police said.
 
The victim was dead when medics arrived at the scene.

A woman in the house at the time of the shooting was not injured, police said.
