A North Carolina man has been charged with reckless driving in a fatal moped crash in Woodbridge.

Ford Matthew Robertson, 26, of Charlotte, N.C., was arrested Oct. 28 after an investigation by the Crash Investigation Unit, Prince William County authorities announced Monday.

The crash occurred Aug. 15 in the parking lot of the Featherstone Square shopping center. Police say Robertson was driving a 2005 Hyundai Tucson when he made a left turn into the path of a 2012 Chongqig Renegade moped, and the two collided.

The driver of the moped, Ray A. Daugherty, 53, of Woodbridge was airlifted to an area hospital, where he died later that evening.

There was no immediate information available on a court date or bond for Robertson.
