D.C. police charged a Southeast man in eight robberies of taxis.
Some of the drivers were held up at gunpoint, police said.
Detectives arrested 19-year-old Anthony Jones Wednesday.
He is charged in the following cases:
- Oct. 1 at 4:31 a.m. in the 3500 block of 6th Street SE (Robbery Snatch)
- Oct. 2 at 6:06 a.m. in the 3500 block of 6th Street SE (Robbery Force and Violence)
- Oct. 2 at 11:01 p.m. in the 2300 block of 11th Street NW (Robbery Force and Violence)
- Oct. 14 at 12:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of 12th Street NW (Armed Robbery, Gun)
- Nov. 1 at 3:37 a.m. at the intersection of 12th Street and Florida Avenue NW (Attempt to Commit Robbery)
- Nov. 21 at 10:06 p.m. in the 2300 block of 11th Street NW (Armed Robbery, Gun)
- Nov. 22 at 4:58 a.m. in the 3500 block of 6th Street SE (Armed Robbery, Gun)
- Nov. 24 at 9:59 p.m. in the 2300 block of 11th Street NW (Armed Robbery, Gun)
Detectives are investigating similar robberies.
