Man Caught Stealing Water Jug of Money: PG County Police

Instead of stealing a sack of cash, how about a five-gallon water jug of it?

A man lugging a money-filled water jug in Landover on Monday afternoon didn’t get far before he was spotted by a Prince George's County police officer.

The officer approached the suspect, who dropped the jug of money and ran. The officer called for backup, who found the man in a wooded area and arrested him. He was identified as Demetrius Jerome Coles of the 5100 block of Cumberland Street in Capitol Heights.

Officers also found a flat screen television in the woods nearby, and they noticed a break-in at Countrywood Court, near where Coles was first spotted. Coles is facing first degree breaking and entering and other charges, according to a press release.
