Man, Nephew Drown in Maryland Pool

A man and a boy drowned in a residential pool in Upper Marlboro, Md., Thursday.

According to a 911 call, 12-year-old Najee Clark jumped into a neighbor's pool and went under, authorities said. His uncle, 59-year-old David Massey jumped in to save him.

When rescuers arrived at the home in the 9200 block of Fairhaven Avenue, they found the two motionless in the pool. When they were removed from the pool, neither was breathing nor had a pulse, and CPR was initiated immediately, said Prince George's County Fire and EMS spokesman Mark Brady.

Fire and EMS rushed the two to Southern Maryland Hospital. They were pronounced dead soon after their arrival.
