Police arrested a man believed to have been involved in an April 8 shooting in Potomac.

According to authorities, the victim and his roommate were inside their home in the 8500 block of Victory Lane on April 8 when the doorbell rang.

Police say the 21-year-old victim answered the door and was confronted by 19-year-old DeAngelo Jackson, who was holding a handgun. The victim tried to close the door but Jackson allegedly forced his way into the residence.

Authorities say Jackson shot the victim and fled the scene.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injures and was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Jackson and took him into custody at his residence on April 14.

Jackson was charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault, as well as several other weapon-related charges.

Police are holding Jackson without bond. His hearing is set for May 11.
