Johnny Alejandro Turcios, 18, was arrested on the same day police say he assaulted a woman in her 60s and attempted to steal her purse but got away with just her iPad.
Officers responded to Guilford Road near Wake Forest Road just after 11 a.m. Wednesday for a strong-armed robbery. The victim, a 63-year-old woman, told police she was walking home when a man approached her, assaulted her and tried to pry her purse away.
The suspect got away with the woman's iPad. She suffered minor bruises and cuts.
Turcios was found a short distance away inside of shed and arrested without incident.
He faces charges of robbery and multiple counts of second degree assault.
