Man Arrested for Assaulting Dog Walker in Northwest DC

A man was arrested after he assaulted and tried to sexually abuse a woman while she was walking her dog in Northwest D.C. Thursday morning.

Todd Anderson, 24, of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with assault with intent to commit first-degree sexual abuse on Thursday, police said.

The victim was walking her dog around 8:40 a.m. in the 5500 block of 14th Street NW when Anderson approached her, grabbed her and tried to sexually abuse her, police said.

The victim managed to get Anderson off her and run down the block. Then, Anderson caught up to her and punched her in the face, police said.

Anderson was later found nearby and taken into D.C. Police custody where he was arrested and charged, police said.
