Police have arrested a man they believe stabbed a woman as she walked down an Arlington County road.

Isiah Hill, 61, of Washington, D.C. was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated malicious wounding and abduction, Arlington County police say.

Police say the victim was walking in the area of Fort Myer Drive Saturday evening when she was approached by Hill. Hill allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed her before leaving the area.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. Her current condition is not known.

Police say Hill is being held pending extradition to Virginia.
