Man Accused in Brother's Death Arrested Nearly 200 Miles Away

A South Carolina man accused of killing his brother in Stafford County, Virignia, was captured nearly 200 miles away, authorities in Virginia say.

Christopher Andrew Veronee, 33, was found shot to death in his home Tuesday. His brother, 21-year-old William Jackson Veronee, has been charged with his death.

Stafford Sheriff's spokeswoman Amanda Vicinanzo says deputies went to Christopher's home in response to a call from a police department in Roanoke, Virginia. Officers in Roanoke talked to William after staff at a cold weather shelter had called about a suspicious person.

Authorities say he told officers that he had shot his brother during a dispute. Vicinanzo says the suspect took off in his brother's vehicle following the shooting.

William was also charged with using a firearm in the commission of a felony. It's unclear if William has a lawyer.
