Sunday is Mother's Day!
And while the holiday is a popular day for dining out, why not change things up this year and cook for Mom.
Chef Roberto Donna of Alba Osteria shares a family favorite -- Nonna's Meatballs.
Ingredients:
10 oz of ground veal
10 oz of ground pork
10 oz of old bread
1 bunch of chopped Italian parsley
1 egg
5 oz of Parmesan cheese
1 garlic cloves
1 oz of lard
2 oz pine nuts
2 oz of raisins
Tomato sauce
Instructions:
Soak bread in water for 10 minutes.

Drain the bread very well and add to the meats in a bowl. Mix well. Next, add the eggs, cheese, salt, pepper, parsley, lard and chopped garlic.
Continue to mix the ingredients, adding the soaked raisins and toasted pine nuts.
Form golf ball-sized balls and pass in flour.
Fry the meatballs and simmer them in tomato sauce for 10 minutes.
