MWAA's Dulles Metrorail Project Under Federal Review

The group in charge of the Dulles Metrorail Project is being reviewed.

U.S. Reps. Frank Wolf and Tom Latham asked federal inspectors to audit the actions of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Congress put the airports authority in charge of Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan National Airport under a long-term lease. That arrangement now includes the commuter rail project.

Some of the decisions regarding that project have recently come under fire.

The lawmakers want the audit to determine whether the airports authority is complying with the terms of the law and the lease.
