MPD Officer Arrested, Charged With First Degree Sexual Abuse

A D.C. police officer was arrested Thursday in connection with a sexual assault at Roche's Microblading & Spa on 16th St. NW.

At approximately 7:25 p.m. on June 10, a female victim was at the spa on 16th Street NW to receive a treatment for cellulite. The suspect, 42-year-old Pearce Then, was administering the treatment when he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, according to a police report. Then was charged with First Degree Sexual Abuse of a Client.

It is unclear from the police report if the suspect was also employed at the spa. Neither the spa nor the metropolitan police department have responded for comment.

Following the arrest police say Then, employed with the department since 2012, had his police powers revoked and he  currently has no contact with the public. Then is assigned to the Fourth District.

“The Metropolitan Police Department does not condone any criminal or immoral conduct by an employee,” said Chief of Police Peter Newsham in a press release. “Officer Then’s actions are a disgrace to everyone who wears a badge. I am thankful that MPD’s Sexual Assault Unit was able to quickly bring this case to closure.”
