MARC's Penn Line Slowed by Heavy Holiday Use

Holiday travel is picking up and parts of the travel system are slowing down.

The Maryland Transit Administration says the afternoon's first MARC train out of Washington on the Penn line was 40 to 45 minutes late getting into Baltimore-Washington International Airport due to heavy passenger volume.

The Maryland Aviation Administration reports no significant problems at BWI other than delays caused by foul weather at airports elsewhere.

And the State Highway Administration says traffic on Maryland's section of the Capital Beltway is congested near the American Legion Bridge for drivers heading into Virginia.
