MARC Trains to Add Weekend Service

MARC expanding its Baltimore-to-Washington service to seven days a week via the Penn Line

The Maryland-to-D.C. route is about to get a lot easier.

MARC is expanding its Baltimore-to-Washington service to seven days a week via the Penn Line. Right now, it’s only available Monday through Friday.

The agency says Maryland’s new transportation revenue from a new gas tax helps pay for the increased service. The move was supposed to happen in 2008, but was put on hold when the recession hit.

There's no word yet on exactly when those weekend trains will start running.
