A man was beaten and robbed in his car while waiting in line at a fast-food drive-thru early Thursday morning.

A 58-year-old Woodbridge man told Prince William County police a man with a handgun approached the driver’s side of his car at the Taco Bell at 12721 Harbor Drive and demanded money before 1 a.m. The man refused, police said.

The gunman struck the victim several times in the face with the gun and then grabbed his wallet and ran, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police searched the area extensively but did not find the attacker, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the crime should call Prince William County police.
