Local Filmmaker Works on Bollywood ‘Bridget Jones'

Comedy to be set at several locales in DC metro area

Move over Hollywood.  Bollywood is coming to town.

For the next two months, film crews in D.C. will be shooting "e-Preeti," the first Bollywood movie set exclusively in Washington, D.C.

Director Shilpa Priya Jagadeesh told Washington Post Staff Writer N.C. Aizenman is like "'Bridget Jones' meets Bollywood."  She also said her aim is to correct some Indian misconceptions about immigrant life in America.

The upscale, make-your-own-meal restaurant Dinner Zen in Reston, Va., the offices of Northern Virginia high-tech firms, a suburban ice-skating rink, and a mixer held by NetSAP (the network of South Asian professionals) at the Willard Hotel are just some of the locales where the film is being shot.

The crew and cast are a mixture of Americans and native South Indians.
