Liquor Store Robbed Twice by Group of Armed Men

Police are now investigating whether six armed robberies during the past several weeks are related -- including two robberies of a Northeast Washington liquor store.

In all six cases, police say between four and six masked men carrying guns enter a business, order customers to get on the ground, and demand cash and cell phones.

A liquor store on Hawaii Avenue NE near Catholic University was robbed in the same manner last Friday as well as Jan. 29.

“I heard them go, ‘You know what this is,’ and one of them pointed his gun at me and said, ‘Where’s your wallet?’ and I told him it was in my backpocket and I gave it to him," a Catholic University student and victim of Friday's robbery told News4.

Police investigated similar robberies at a Georgetown Domino's earlier this month, a Metro Access facility on Adams Place NE last month and a liquor store robbery on Bladensburg Road NE on Jan. 28.
