Leesburg School Bus Crash Injures Four

Bus collided with Volkswagen Beetle Friday afternoon

Leesburg police are investigating a collision involving a school bus, which left four youths injured. 

The accident occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. Friday, when police say the bus collided with a Volkswagen Beetle at the intersection of Kincaid Boulevard and Kenneth Place. The bus was carrying about 30 students home from school when the accident took place.

Police say that the driver of the Volkswagen, a 17-year-old Leesburg girl, was airlifted to Fairfax Inova Hospital for treatment of her injuries. The car's passenger, also a 17-year-old girl, was taken to Loudoun Hospital Center, where she was treated and released. Police also reported that two students on the bus suffered minor injuries. A second bus was called to transport the remaining students home.
