Leesburg Churches Burglarized

Four burglaries have been reported in Leesburg, Va. since Dec. 3 -- and two of those occurred at churches.

St. James Episcopal Church and the Leesburg United Methodist Church are among the locations burglarized. The thieves took cash and property of value, authorities said.

Authorities say all four burglaries occurred in the northwest and southwest quadrants of town close to the downtown area.

Police are cautioning residents to keep their doors and windows looked. In addition, consumers should dispose carefully of any packages of high-valued items such as TVs or computers. They should not leave the boxes at the curb for pick up. Instead, shred them or bring them to the recycling center.
