Former D.C. Treasurer Lasana Mack Missing for More Than a Week

A former D.C. treasurer has not been seen for more than a week, and police are describing him as a critical missing person.

Lasana K. Mack, 51, was last seen Sept. 13 in the 2200 block of Taylor Street NE.

Those who know Mack say he's a consummate professional, and not the type of person to stay away without letting people know where he is.

"Let's all hope that this turns out for the best, and Lasana comes back to us," said D.C. Councilmember Jack Evans, who, as a longtime councilmember, recalls Mack's seven-year stint as D.C. treasurer.

Evans, who was finance chair on the Council, said Mack was part of a team that took the city's case to Wall Street, where he displayed impressive financial abilities.

Evans called Mack "very knowledgeable."

Mack is five feet 10 inches tall, weighs 195 pounds, has brown eyes and is bald. He may be driving a gray 2013 Ford Explorer with D.C. tags EE8080.

D.C. Police are asking that anyone with information on Mack contact them at 202-727-9099.
