Overhead Sign Issue Closes I-95 Lanes

VDOT closed two lanes Friday morning to repair or replace an overhead guide sign

Two right lanes of northbound I-95 closed Friday morning and will remain closed for the repair or removal of an overhead guide sign.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) worked on the overhead guide sign at mile marker 141.9, between exits 140 and 143 on Friday morning.

An inspection identified damage to four of the bolts linking the guide sign to the cantilevered arm.

VDOT will decide if they’ll repair the sign or take it to a VDOT facility for repair.

Both lanes on northbound I-95 are expected to reopen by 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.
