Komen Foundation Walk This Weekend

Three-day event will conclude Sunday

Hundreds of men and women from around the country will hit the pavement Saturday to help find a cure for breast cancer.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Susan G. Komen Foundation is hosting its 3-Day walk in several cities across the U.S., including Washington, D.C. The walk stepped off early Friday morning near the Capitol.

Saturday, walkers will make their way through much of Northwest Washington. Organizers set up public cheering stations throughout the city: one in DuPont Circle, the other until 3:45 p.m. along 18th Street NW in Adams Morgan.

The walk will end for the day at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Northeast Washington.

The three-day event will wrap up Sunday afternoon at the Washington Monument.
