Kissing Bandit Gets Caught

No charges are pending

A 71-year-old man who was allegedly walking around Sterling, Va., kissing woman joggers in the morning has been caught.

The first time the kissing bandit struck was on Nov. 20 in the 20750 block of Whitewater Drive. According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was jogging in the area when the man came up to her. He put out his hand as if he wanted to shake her hand, and then kissed her on the cheek instead.

The man, described as being 5'6" tall with short dark hair and a large nose, did it again on Monday, Nov. 23, in the same area of Whitewater Drive. This time, he held out his hand to a 50-year-old  female jogger as if he were trying to introduce himself, and kissed the woman’s hand instead.

Both incidents occurred around 9:15 a.m., police said.

It's unclear what the man's intentions were (aside from wanting to kiss the ladies and weird them out); both women said the man seemed to be disoriented. He was wearing all black clothing in the latest incident.
