Officers Scoop Up Jaywalking Goats in Prince William County

The goats were wandering along Dale Boulevard when officers spotted them and brought them back to the station

Officers got an unexpected sight on Monday: two goats, just out for a casual stroll in Northern Virginia.

The goats were wandering along Dale Boulevard when officers spotted them and brought them back to the station, Prince William County Police said in a Facebook post.

After a brief stay with the police department, the goats — whom police called Billy 1 and 2 — were transferred to the Prince William County Animal Shelter, according to a Facebook post.

Photos the department posted on Facebook showed officers holding the goats and smiling. Another image showed the goats standing in the back of a police cruiser.

"... [I]t definitely lifted our spirits," police said.
