Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.) says he'll apologize for a comment he made at National Airport saying Michelle Obama has "a large posterior."
Sensenbrenner was overheard speaking loudly on his cell phone in the Delta Crown lounge, according to FishbowlDC:
Sensenbrenner was overheard saying that after buying all their "crap" (his word) [at a church auction], a woman approached him and praised first lady Michelle Obama. He told the woman that Michelle should practice what she preaches -- "she lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself."
Fishbowl then wrote to the rep's spokesperson with the following questions:
"My questions: 1. Does the Congressman realize that he, also, has a large behind? 2. Does he always speak so loudly on the cell phone?"
The spokesperson wrote back to say that Sensenbrenner doesn't think the government should be telling Americans what to eat, but that he plans to apologize.
