Woman Grazed by Bullet While Sleeping

DC Police say a stray bullet entered her 2nd floor apartment

A 26-year-old southeast Washington woman is recovering after police say a stray bullet entered her second-floor apartment early Thursday morning and grazed her forehead while she was sleeping.

The incident happened just after midnight in the 2700 block of Douglas Place in Southeast.

Police said at least two suspects were shooting at a group of people sitting on the steps outside the woman's apartment building.  Several shell casings were found on the ground.  Police said the woman was in no way an intended target.

There's no suspect information at this time, and no arrests have been made.

The victim is expected to recover.
