Beltway Outer Loop Reopened in Bethesda; Traffic Delays Persist

The Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway near the Interstate 270 split has reopened after it was closed when a tractor-trailer caught on fire.

Drivers may still encounter residual delays.

Video from Chopper 4 showed that traffic stalled Friday morning around the intersection of I-495 and Rockville Pike, also known as Maryland 355, near Kensington and Bethesda in Maryland.

The fire was extinguished.
