Hunt for Potomac River Rapist Continues

Man suspected in at least nine sexual assaults

Despite multiple tips and what they say are good leads, the FBI still has not identified the man known as the Potomac River Rapist.

He’s suspected of multiple rapes and sexual assaults in our area between 1991 and 1998, including the murder of a woman in Georgetown.

FBI officials said they’ve conducted DNA tests on a few men and the analysis is ongoing.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
