The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a $5,000 reward for information in an animal cruelty case involving this 9-month-old puppy. Surveillance footage captured a man driving a dark-colored four-door sedan missing its hood.

The Humane Rescue Alliance is offering a $5,000 reward for information after a severely malnourished puppy was abandoned in Northeast D.C.

A man abandoned the 9-month-old male puppy across the street from One Eight Distilling on Okie Street NE about midnight on Wednesday, July 10, the HRA said.

The puppy was severely emaciated and suffering from mange, as well as a secondary skin condition. HRA says the pup is receiving emergency veterinary care and doing well.

Surveillance footage shows the man in question driving a dark-colored, four-door sedan missing its hood. The car is possibly a Dodge Charger.

HRA is asking that anyone with information or who recognizes the dog or car to call 202-723-5730, option 1.

“We are determined to bring this dog’s abuser to justice, but we need help from the community to do so,” Vice President of Field Services at the Humane Rescue Alliance Chris Schindler said. “We hope this reward will motivate any witnesses or others with information about this crime to come forward immediately.”
