Three Horses Slashed in Reston Area

Police searching for person or persons responsible

Police are asking for the publics help in identifying the person or persons responsible for wounding three horses in Fairfax County.

It happened on the 2600 block of Centreville Road, adjacent to Frying Pan Farm Park in Reston, Va.

According to authorities, sometime between the hours 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday, a person or persons cut and wounded three horses.

Police say all three horses required medical attention, but the wounds did not appear to be life-threatening. The horses reportedly belong to the Spirit Open Equestrian Program, which provides riding instruction for individuals with disabilities.
 
Park employees told police they saw a man "stumbling around" Frying Pan Park at about 11 a.m. on Thursday. It is unknown if he was involved in the incident.
