Remember Bullet Catcher, the four-year-old gelding that got loose and fled onto Route 1 earlier this month? Well, he is set to make his Laurel Park racing debut Thursday.
On Jan. 11, Bullet Catcher was returning from a workout when he tossed his jockey Jeremy Rose and ended up on Route 1. He made it 1.6 miles before being caught (he won't have to run that long Thursday; the 5.5 furlong race is equivalent to about seven-tenths of a mile).
Bullet Catcher's odds are 8-1 in the 3:55 p.m. race, the sixth choice in an 11-horse field. Rose will not ride Thursday. J.D. Acosta has drawn the riding assighment.
