Baltimore might have hosted The Preakness this past weekend, but you didn’t have to leave Washington to see a great horse race. You didn’t even have to turn on the TV.
A runaway horse hoofed it through upper northwest Washington Sunday. It apparently escaped from the Rock Creek Park Horse Center and took off.
“We were looking out the window, seeing this horse in full stride,” one witness said. “And we’re both saying, ‘Wow, I’ve never see that before!’”
The horse didn’t seem too interested in checking out Washington’s museums or monuments. It didn’t seem interested in any attractions, to be honest. It just wanted to run. And run. And run.
His jaunt finally ended peacefully in the Chevy Chase neighborhood. Despite some close calls with little dogs, no one was hurt.
