Police Investigate Home Invasion, Burglary in Bethesda

Montgomery County Police said residents of a home in Bethesda were robbed during a home invasion late Saturday night.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division and the 2nd District Investigative Section said the incident occurred in the 7100 block of Natelli Woods Lane around 11:30 p.m.

The residents of the home were awakened to find two men in the house. The suspects confronted the victims and demanded valuables.

Police said the suspects removed the property and left the residence.

Investigators said entry to the home was made through an unlocked door and will attempt to determine whether this incident is related to other late-night burglaries.

"What we really want to focus with residents is to use the security measures they have in place," Capt. James Daly with Montgomery County Police said. "It's as simple as locking doors and windows."

Approximately three weeks ago, a home also in the Avenel neighborhood was burglarized of jewelry, electronics and sports memorabilia.
