Holder Honors Victims of Sept. 11 Attacks

Attorney General Eric Holder and other officials are paid tribute in Washington to the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

At a ceremony outside the office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Holder said that the nation is safer and stronger than it was before. He says the government is committed to keeping residents safe while protecting their civil liberties.

U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen dedicated a new conference room plaque to Barbara Olson, the wife of former U.S. Solicitor Ted Olson. She was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon, and an assistant U.S. attorney in Washington from 1992 to 1995.

The plaque will be placed inside the National Security Conference Room in the U.S. Attorney's office.
