TheWashCycle reports that the Shirlington Underpass of the trail – which is still under construction and not open for use yet – doesn’t just go under I-395.
It now connects to a sidewalk along the east side of S. Four Mile Run Drive and then dips underneath Glebe Road, where it rejoins the existing bikeway.
That's good news, according to TheWashCycle blogger, who admitted to once being tapped by a car at that intersection.
