Body Found in Herndon Creek

A man's body was found in a creek in Herndon, Va., police said.

A resident of Center Street called police about 8 a.m. Friday to report a body in the creek near Center Street and Locust Street, not far from the Washington and Old Dominion Trail. The body was fully clothed, police said.

The man was identified Friday night as 30-year-old Damien Patrick Scanlan of Herndon.

Police are currently investigating his cause of death but say they do not suspect foul play.

The Herndon police are looking for information on anyone or anything that might have been seen Thursday night in the area of Center Street and Locust Street between midnight and 8 a.m. Friday.
