What You Need to Know for Holiday Travel: Weather Forecast

You likely won't see a white Christmas in the D.C. area, but you may see some rainshowers as you travel to your holiday dinner.

Saturday will be warmer than recent days, with high temperatures reaching about 60 degrees. But expect rain showers to begin in the afternoon and stick around through the evening.

If you're travelling Saturday, be cautious on wet roads. A few flakes could fall overnight into Sunday, but they likely won't stick on the ground.

Some rain may persist into Sunday morning, and Christmas Eve is expected to be cloudy. The lack of sun will keep temperatures in the 40s throughout Sunday.

The forecast is tricky for Monday, when many people will celebrate Christmas Day. Clouds will stick around through the morning, and there's a small chance of some percipitation. Temperatures will hover just around freezing in the morning and will cool down in the afternoon.

If you're traveling Monday, rain and snow are now unlikely. The day will be marked by partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid 30s.
