Here Comes the Cold!

Weekend forecast reminds us we are about to hit winter

Don't look now but the wintery weather blasting the Midwest is on its way to the District and although it won't be carrying the same amount of the "white stuff," it will bring the bitter chill.

Rain is in the forecast for Saturday night but by Sunday morning, the mix will turn to sleet and snow and could make some D.C. roads extremely slippery.

The weekend's end will also bring the end of temperatures in the forties. For the first half of the week, you can expect temperatures hovering around freezing. However, the howling winds will make it feel at least 10 degrees colder.

Check out FEMA's suggestions to help you be prepared for the winter in your home, car and when you step out the front door.
