Heavy Rain Leads to Flooding at DC Animal Shelter

Heavy rain flooded a D.C. animal shelter Friday, damaging much of the shelter's dog beds.

The Humane Rescue Alliance said on Facebook and Twitter it had to throw away a lot of its dog bedding at its New York Avenue location.

On Saturday, the shelter asked for people to donate towels, sheets and blankets.

By Sunday, the shelter said it had received an overwhelming response and was "overflowing" with towels, blankets and bedding.
