The District’s attorney general said Thomas has defaulted on his settlement agreement.
Irvin Nathan told WTOP that Thomas has not paid back the majority of the $300,000 he admitted stealing from taxpayers.
The former councilmember used the money on lavish vacations, luxury cars and other high-priced items.
Thomas agreed to make six payments of $50,000 but has only made one payment so far.
The agreement says if he fails to pay back the money, D.C. officials can “do whatever it takes” to recover the money, including place liens on Thomas’s property.
